PRK or photorefractive keratectomy is a custom procedure that uses the Excimer laser for the correction of nearsightness (myopia), farsightness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Unlike LASIK, there is no corneal flap and only the surface of the eye is treated. Although recovery takes a little longer than LASIK the procedure is less invasive while the results are the same. At Long Island Vision Experts/Hatsis Laser Vision, our surgeons personally evaluate every candidate for a vision correction procedure and recommend the most appropriate and safest possible option.
